I volunteered to teach English with Helping Hand Nepal almost 20 years ago! Back then it was a new organization. I learned so much about myself and about the community I living and working in. It was a life changing experience! I would recommend anyone who likes a challenge and an adventure to volunteer with Helping Hand Foundation Nepal as well.

I had a great time in Nepal in 2001. The people, the food, the beautiful mountains, etc. At the time, no cell phone, difficult acces to a computer, not easy to tell mom I was okay  Working at the school was very different from what I knew, but it was a great experience overall. The family I lived with was amazing and really hope I'll get to see them again one day.

Volunteering in Nepal was one of the best experiences of my life. The people I met and the memories I made will stay with me forever. It wasn’t always easy, but that’s the point. It was a challenge. HHCN made sure the whole thing was as smooth as possible, and I always felt looked after. I lived with a wonderful family who made me feel right at home. I’ll never forget the smiles of the kids. When I’d finished my teaching, I had the opportunity to head off and explore the incredible Himalayas on an amazing 10 day trek. Whatever your skills, this is something that everyone should do.
