Volunteer Teaching English in Nepal

Help make vital English language accessible to the underprivileged Nepalese children by joining this meaningful teaching volunteer program. Trusted by 5000+ volunteers since 1999.

Do you have a deep passion and motivation to help underprivileged children to achieve their potential? Do you want to go on a life-changing trip to the Himalayan countries of Nepal and help deprived children be fluent in the English language? Volunteer Teaching in Nepal program is an ideal opportunity for you!

Nepal is an incredibly beautiful Himalayan country filled with wonders. There are countless activities to take part in here, from mountain hiking, trekking, elephant safari, city sightseeing tours, paragliding, rock climbing, mountain biking, mountain climbing to jungle safaris.  English is an international language and the job market in the world including Nepal demands candidates who are fluent in the English language. Therefore, a good comprehension of the English language plays a crucial part in the career growth of poor Nepalese children and opens several doors of lucrative job opportunities.

Unfortunately, considering the large number of tourists every year to this beautiful country, thousands of families still live in poverty. They're unable to afford to send their kids to decent English schools. This suggests that they go to overpopulated and poorly funded high schools where they do not have the ability for their pupils to ensure proper English education. Due to this, the majority of children in Nepal are deprived of the light of English education.

Local schools in Nepal are therefore urgently searching for keen volunteers to help educate deprived Nepalese students. As an English teaching volunteer in Nepal, you will teach invaluable English skills along with many types of life skills and inspire them to lead a happy, harmonious and successful life.

Do you feel called to positively change the life of disadvantaged children? Contact us now to contribute in our fight to help improve the life of disadvantaged Nepalese students.

Volunteer Responsibilities & Impacts

When you join this Nepal English teaching volunteer program, you will help destitute Nepalese children progress in English by sharing your native language skills. You will teach in a government-run primary school of 200-300 student population. The children range from 6 to 12 years old. The volunteer has the opportunity to design a curriculum based on his/her experience as well as the children’s skill level. There are approximately 4 to 7 class periods every day, with a break for lunch. School is in session six days a week, from Sunday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., except on Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 PM. The volunteer is encouraged to bring as many teaching materials as possible, including books, flashcards, music/songs, and drawing materials.

Volunteer English teaching programs in Nepal are life-changing and eye-opening for both you and the children you work for. On one hand, you will get to understand the education system of developing countries like Nepal, learn Nepalese language and immerse in amazing local cultures and customs. On the other hand, your passion, love and care will greatly inspire the children and help them reach ever greater heights, fulfilling their true potential. Most importantly, when the students use the English skills you teach to excel them in the work world, they will lead a bright and prosperous future.

Why teaching volunteers in Nepal?

Participating in our teaching volunteer program in Nepal allows you to actively teach in underfunded schools where you are completely free to share your love and passion to the deprived children. You will help young students learn and improve their English skills which will give them a chance at a brighter future.

As a volunteer teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach English abroad and get real world experience of teaching a class in a different environment with unfamiliar curriculums. You may encounter challenges, but the rewards will outweigh any difficulties. It helps you gain valuable work experience of teaching in a foreign country which can come handy in your future career in the academic field.
