Are you looking for platforms to increase your world views, make a difference in someone's life, and create smiles from your invaluable support through Volunteer work? Use your skills of knowledge and compassion to become part of a volunteer program in a place known as Makawanpur in Nepal. Makawanpur is a part of Bagmati province, and its administrative headquarter is Hetauda. Earlier known by the name of Chisapani district, it was renamed Makwanpur by the name of Makwanpurgadhi. It is a hilly region, surrounded by Kathmandu and Dhading districts from the north, Chitwan in the west, Lalitpur, Kavre, Sindhuli east, Parsa, Bara, and Rautahat in the South. Most people of this district are an ethnic mix of Tamangs, Brahmin, Magar, Newar, and Chepang communities.

Makawanpur is known for having historical and cultural importance. This district thrives economically through sectors of tourism and activities like rafting, hiking, and expeditions. It is a good destination for tourists who enjoy outdoor activities. The mission of HHFN is to bring together those dedicated to promoting radical development and helping people in Makawanpur live in a better world. We encourage enthusiastic individuals to join us in our journey of social change and philanthropic work to help us achieve our purpose. You can visit all the places while volunteering in Makwanpur with HHFN, and some of them are explained below to give you a better understanding of Makwanpur.

Daman: It is Southwest of Kathmandu, at a distance of 77 kilometers. Perched at a high ridge, Makawanpur offers spectacular views of Dhaulagiri up to Everest Mountain peaks. For hikers and nature lovers, it provides a way to breathe and take pictures of the botanical garden and rhododendron flowers under the clear blue sky. During the winter, there are snowfalls in the hills. The Mahadev temple and holy festivals during Thulo Ekadashi and Fagu Purnima are celebrated and worshipped by Hindu devotees.

Makwanpur Gandhi: It is a fort built during the period of the Sen Dynasty. It is seventeen kilometers north of Hetauda. The area of this fort is 25 ft. by seven ft. in height and width. There was also a ten feet deep canal that guarded the ruler and his troops against enemies. You can find two castles, Mool Gadhi and Sano gadhi, and a private Palace used by Kings called Jungey durbar.

Indrasarovr: This is the largest artificial lake at a deep gorge between Markhu and Kulekhani village development committee. The surroundings are captivating with green forest, hills, beautiful blue water lakes, and starry sky at night. From this lake water dam, Kulekhani hydropower is operated, and the surrounding villages and towns of this region.

Chitlang: It is a small beautiful place 22 kilometers south of Kathmandu Valley. With rich forest and steep uphill filled with monuments dating to the Lichchhavi period. The major attractions are Bhai ran temple, Maghgaon, Pauwa, Saatdhaara, Shivalaya, and Bhairab temple. The locals are engaged in agriculture, horticulture, and small-scale trade and commerce. There are beautiful resorts and guest houses for local and foreign tourists who arrive and stay at this place for a retreat.

Parsa National Park: Parsa National Park is in the inner terai region of south-central Nepal. The buffer zone is a stretch of 413.3 square kilometers of land. It extends to the Birgunj-Hetauda highway. The park has a tropical and sub-tropical forest with Asian wildlife elephants, bison, royal Bengal tiger, Common leopard, sloth bear, wild dogs, one-horned rhino, deer, and residential birds. Jungle drives, elephant rides, and bird watching are favorite past times of visitors in the park.

One of the pressing problems of Makawanpur found is human trafficking. Also, women don't have equal grounds as male counterparts in political and social participation due to patriarchal beliefs and a lack of education and skills for maintaining healthy living standards. Dalits like Chepang and other marginalized communities struggle daily to live and bear many hurdles to raising their family.Frequently, people are exposed to climatic changes and hazards in a primitive setting, and there is a lack of proper human resources and infrastructures where they can reap maximum health benefits. The people's sustainability relies on timber and fishing and has minimal land holdings. Soil erosion causes rise in riverbeds and landslides, and flooding makes the lives of people in the region bleak. Makwanpur is a region rich in agroforestry products, yet still, the development level of this region has to bloom to its fullest potential. The people of Makwanpur need proper establishments, infrastructures, and homes for the deprived, quality and accessible education, and free public health facilities. There are already some foundations working to meet those gaps through philanthropic works, but the resources in participation for the upliftment of the deprived are insufficient as per requirements.

A non-governmental organization (NGO) in Nepal is looking for more volunteers who will become key players to lend extra hands to uplift by paying a certain fee to visit Makawanpur and meet the people. HHFN stands for Helping Hand Foundation Nepal, which aims to give a writing of knowledge, expertise, and service to uplift the region. HHFN has many volunteering programs which meet the targeted areas of improvement, such as agriculture, research, photo and media journalism, women empowerment, medical volunteering, nature conservation, work at orphanages, and elephant conservation. It also has projects on group programs like high school group programs, family volunteering, group construction, renovation program, environment conservation program, medical volunteers, etc. Similarly, work camps, charity treks, and internships will give the volunteers the opportunity to invigorate and meet the challenges for improving people's lives through their precious support in Makawanpur, Nepal.
