Volunteer Responsibilities & Impacts

While working on this Nepal orphanage volunteer program, you will be helping children with their everyday activities. You will play an important role to build confidence in their coming life by giving them opportunities to increase various life skills. In addition, you will also teach English and other subjects. You will help the children with their everyday necessities, like getting ready for schools, preparing foods and much more. Most importantly, you will provide these kids with the real love, attention and care they truly deserve and crave.  

Skills and Qualifications

No specific qualifications and prior experiences are needed to volunteer in an orphanage in Nepal with HHFN. However, a basic knowledge of the Nepalese language provides you with great confidence and ease while working to change the life of these underprivileged kids. Thus, we can organize a week-long Nepalese Language class and Cultural Immersion Program. Besides, you are also expected to be flexible, patient, open-minded and should have a strong willingness to work with disadvantaged children. 

Volunteer Schedule

When you arrive in Nepal, our airport representative picks you up at the airport and transfers you to your accommodation. The next morning, our project coordinator gives you an orientation about the country, safety procedures, Dos and Don’ts along with the general outline of the volunteering in Nepal program. 

After orientation, you will be taken to your respective project and you will start your volunteer work. There is not such a fixed daily schedule as volunteering works vary every day. Here is sample daily schedule:

• 7.30 AM​: Enjoy your delicious breakfast at your accommodation.

• 8.45 AM:  You will commute to your placement and start volunteering with underprivileged women.

• 3.00 PM: The volunteering work generally ends. You are free to travel home, prepare for the next day or do some shopping and sightseeing.

• 7.30 PM: Dinner.
