Drinking water is the fundamental need in our lives, but people face many difficulties in meeting these needs in most of Nepal's rural villages.

According to a thoroughly researched article by Durga D. Poudel and Timothy W. Duex published in the February 2017 issue of Mountain Research and Development, approximately 80% of the 13 million people living in the hills and mountains of Nepal depend on springs as their primary source of water. Most villages and towns in Nepal are facing extreme water shortages despite the presence of vast resources.

The hilly and mountainous areas of the Tanahu and Lamjung District are not untouched by this situation and people residing in this are facing drinking water scarcity problems. The water has to be fetched from far away and this consumes a great deal of women’s time since women are traditionally the ones given the task.

In order to solve this problem, we, as a nonprofit organization, are planning to establish a water reservoir tank in the remote village of Lamjung and Tanahu district. We already have created a blueprint of the project and a dedicated team with us is excited to start this project. If we get some economic support from the public then it would be a lot easier for us to establish the water reservoir tank.
