Student Adventure Tour

Itinerary:
Day 1: Departure flight for Nepal
Day 2 (Kathmandu):
Arrival in Nepal
Kathmandu tour: Patan Durbar Square, Kumari Chowk (Kumari Living Goddess), Swayambhu Temple, Pashupatinath sacred Hindu complex, Bodnath Buddhist Stupa
Overnight in Kathmandu
Day 3: (Kathmandu):
Bhaktapur ancient city tour
Thamel neighborhood for sinner
Overnight in Kathmandu
Day 4 (Chitwan):
Bus to Chitwan (5 hours)
Village homestay and tour of Bijayanagar (school, temples, farms, cricket stadium)
Visit Devghat Hindu Ashram
Overnight in Bijayanagar Chitwan
Day 5 (Chitwan):
Jeep safari at Chitwan National Park
Tharu Cultural Museum and Research Center
Overnight in Sauraha Chitwan
Day 6 (Lumbini):
Visit Lumbini, the Birthplace of the Lord Buddha
Overnight in Lumbini
Day 7 (Pokhara):
Bus to Pokhara mountain area (4 hours)
Tour of Pokhara (Old Town, Phewa Lake, shopping)
Overnight in Pokhara
Day 8 (Pokhara):
Full day Buddhism immersion:
Visit a Buddhist monastery, meet monks and learn about their monastic life, daily studies and activities in the monastery. Attend their group “pooja” (prayer chanting)
Meet a Tibetan doctor and learn about basic knowledge of Tibetan medicine
Learn how Tibetan people introduced and make Tibetan carpets in the settlements
Learn about the symbols and images that are so important in their daily life
Learn about Tibetan schools, kindergarten and educational system
Enjoy simple Tibetan momos & then thuk (yak soup) in a Tibetan restaurant
Evening tea in a local family with tsampa (barley flour), butter tea and Tibetan bread
Overnight in Pokhara
Day 9 (Kathmandu):
Flight to Kathmandu (30 minutes)
Shopping in Thamel; program wrap-up and dinner
Overnight in Kathmandu
Day 10: Departure flight from Nepal
When you volunteer in Nepal with HHFN, we are responsible for arranging you a safe and hygienic accommodation and meal options(Hotel, Guest house, Host Family).You will spend your time in Nepal with an educated, welcoming, cultured and highly experienced host-family. You can also expect 3 delicious local Nepalese meals a day along with a good opportunity to immerse in their cultures, language, festivals and traditions.
Program Fees

The altruistic cause of volunteerism is our passion thus we always strive hard to keep our coast as low as possible. The majority of your program-fee i.e. $2000 + $200 registration fee is used for your program.
